CHANTEL NEL is an internationally recognised  makeup artist who combines her passion for using make-up as a tool for self expression with her love for creativity. After graduating with International Diplomas (I.P.T.I and CIDESCO, S.A Beauty and Make-Up Design), specialising in all types of make-up for stills, television, film and stage, as well as prosthetics and special effects, the sky was just the limit for this motivated and driven artist. After graduating in 1999, CHANTEL has had a wonderfully rich scope of diversity in her field. She lectured on makeup for a year before going to work full time for Egoli for 10 years. In this time, CHANTEL worked with several local and International Celebrities as well as all the Idols / Big Brother / Extreme Make-over (reality shows on MNET) contestants. 

CHANTEL had an opportunity to work in London to gain experience on an International level where she was trained in make-up for top International brands like Laura Mercier, NARS, Stila and Chantecaille.

CHANTEL joined GBP Cosmetics – Clarins SA as Promotions co-ordinator, where she received training on an International level with the following brands: Clarins, Thierry Mugler, Azzaro and Porsche Design. She represented the Brand for any PR or events doing make-up and became their in-house make up artist. CHANTEL then joined The Prestige Cosmetics Group – CHANEL as Retail Development Manager where CHANTEL became the ambassador for the brand and in house make-up artist for any PR events such as Top Billing. 

After being with CHANTEL, she returned to the television industry where her real passion lies and worked on the set of The Wild as Senior Make-up artist. Here she worked with local celebrities on a daily basis. CHANTEL  has recently worked on an international Series on MNET called Strike Back, as well as other freelance jobs within the industry.   

CHANTEL was appointed at the HOD for the make-up and hair department for Villa Rosa on KykNet where she worked with local celebrities on a day to day basis.

Since then CHANTEL has worked on several International productions as a freelance make-up artist such as Strike Back and Madiba, she has worked on several international foreighn films as a daily as well as local films such as the Guiness World Book of records Fastest Film ever made – Shotgun Garfunkel and Silverskerm fees film  for KykNet. She has also worked on the set of Zabalaza and is still currently working on the set of Getroud met Rugby, Isidingo, High Rollers as well as commercials and covers for the Huisgenoot magazine.

CHANTEL also specialises in Bridal/Wedding make-up and now offers her Brides and clients a wide range of services not only Professional make-up but qualified gel/acrylic Magnetic nail technician. She is also a distributer for a newly launched gel polish AnGel the Gel. She is also a eyelash/eyebrow expert with Adele Suttons’s Brow and Lashcoat. She also offers Caribean Tan’s Airbrush spraytan and is a stockist of the retail products.
